Cavco - Nappanee Takes Home 2025 Lowest Total Recordable Incident Rate Award
Safety is a daily commitment that has to be demonstrated every single day – on every floor, at every station and by every person on the team. Cavco - Nappanee proved this truism in a big way by taking home the 2025 Lowest Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) Safety Now Award. (TRIR indicates the number of OSHA recordable injuries per 100 people per year.)
We claimed the top honor with a TRIR of 0.91 – a result that reflects years of deliberate effort, personal accountability and a plant–wide culture where safety isn't just a set of policies; it's a way of life.
"We have strived for a few years to reach the number one spot in safety," said Steve Maisonneuve, General Manager of Cavco -Nappanee. "Finally achieving it is very satisfying. It’s a testament to the hard work of all the men and women employed here. It takes a lot of effort and personal accountability to attain such a lofty goal, and I am very proud of the achievement."
When asked about the secret behind the win, Steve kept it simple:
"My motto is and has always been 'Safety First, Last, Always.' Always keeping an eye on safety and never walking by an issue without raising it. Being aware of your surroundings and taking accountability for your own safety – as well as the safety of your teammates; this is the key."
Hall of Fame Features Cavco - Nappanee Manufactured Home
If you’re ever in Elkhart, Indiana, make sure and stop by the RV/MH Hall of Fame. It recognizes, preserves and honors the histories of the recreational vehicle and manufactured housing industries. The museum’s management knew they couldn’t adequately educate visitors on the history of each industry without partnering with one of today’s premier, most noted brands. Fortunately for the hall of fame, the perfect partner was located in their backyard – Cavco - Nappanee.
Cavco - Nappanee proudly donated a beautiful, fully-furnished National model home for permanent display at the museum. The National model is a single-wide, 1,165 square foot manufactured home featuring 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 lovely bathrooms, an inviting kitchen and a comfortable, cozy front porch. It perfectly displays many of the modern amenities featured in today’s manufactured homes.
